Naturally enough in URU no one wants to be named some ordinary modern "Susie May Jones." And yet for the La Casa story, that is what many of us would have been called at some point in life.

When planning out your character, consider what name was given at birth. Don't worry. You don't have to use it, just have it ready should we need to produce the list of who we all once were. After her father died in 1967 Margaret Linnea Donnelly was "adopted" by Joseph and Marie Calling Bird who gave her name KoHama Dineh, (later changed to ni D'ni). Cindy Louise Alexander was called "Flower Mama" back in 1968, and only became Okaasan when the Friends of the Fissure was founded as the corporate entity that holds the La Casa property. Imzadi is really named Imzadi because her parents were big into Star Trek Next Generation.

Your character has his/her own backstory, with a birthdate and place, parents, education and a reason for ending up at La Casa. Obviously, those who have arrived because of Yeesha's call have different motivations than those who have lived in the area for many years.
